Petites-Bergeronnes Hydro Power Plant, Petites-Bergeronnes River

The Petites‑Bergeronnes development was built in 1954 by the Office of Rural Electrification. The hydroelectric potential was exploited until 1966 before a breach at the base of a dam further upstream on the river caused significant damage leading to the abandonment of its exploitation. The land was recovered by AXOR in 1991. A water intake and a penstock were developed, and a new plant was commissioned in April 1994 by Columbus Energy Corporation Inc., an affiliate of AXOR, which operates it.

A power purchase agreement signed with Hydro‑Québec Production is in effect until 2034.
