Chutes-à-Gorry Hydro Power Plant, Sainte-Anne River

Location

Sainte-Christine-d'Auvergne, Quebec

Date of Commissioning

1996

Installed Power

10 MW

In the 1990s, AXOR recovered this financially troubled project, revised its design, and finally developed a 10 MW power plant in two phases, which today houses two Saxo‑Kaplan turbines. Located on the Sainte‑Anne River between Saint‑Alban and Sainte‑Christine‑d’Auvergne, the project uses a drop of 26 metres to produce 55 GWh of renewable energy annually.

The project is now operated by Columbus Energy Company Inc., an affiliate of AXOR. An electricity purchase contract signed with Hydro‑Québec Production is in effect until 2036.
