Built in 1911 and acquired by Hydro‑Québec during the nationalization of electricity, the Jean‑Guérin spillway dam was recovered by AXOR in 1997, which then built a hydroelectric installation including a water intake, a penstock, and a power station which houses the Saxo‑Kaplan turbine with a power of 5.1 MW.
The project is now operated by Columbus Energy Corporation Inc., an affiliate of AXOR. A power purchase agreement signed with Hydro‑Québec Production is in effect until 2038.
